Sprint 12 Summary: Milestone 3 prototype shipped!

Welcome to another sprint summary! Already the 12th entry in this series. For this sprint, we’ve been focusing on fixing and optimising the whole platform so that I was the best as possible for the Milestone 3 submission and presentation we did last Thursday. You can see the video of it here.

We have had to adjust many tasks we originally planned so that we could have a working prototype with all the basic functionality implemented in our public Kwee server.

Front-End

We’ve advanced in the frontend department quite a bit. We finally have a working selection process, a brand new landing with our own Graphics Engine and many other small improvements.

Starting with the selection process. Firstly, you can go over all the candidates that have enrolled in the offer, mark them as favs so that you can check them later, contact them so that you can have an early interview or other selection processes you company may follow.

Once you select the candidates you want to have for the job offer, you can go to the next step. While doing so, these candidates will receive an email asking for a confirmation if they are interested or not in the offer.

In the second step you can see the status of these confirmation, with a list of pending, selected and refused candidates. If some takes a lot of time in answering you can cancel the selection and go back and select a new candidate. Finally, if some of them accept your invitation you can go to the last step.

Here, you can see an overview of the candidates that have accepted the job offer where you can contact them for further details and close the offer. Once you close it the candidate will be able to rate you and vice versa.

The rating dialog, where both users will evaluate different characteristics of each other. Kwee will then use those scores to recalculate the Index value of both profiles.

We’ve also revamped the new offer publishing form, with a much nice three part stepper instead of a single huge form.

Other changes we’ve been hard working is a new Invoices page, Premium subscription page, finishing the business and candidate directories, the pages have now custom metadata like the title and we have a brand new Landing which we are in love! 🥰

Back-End

For the backend part of the project, we’ve finally finished and fixed the Kwee Index Algorithm which now works properly and is deployed on the site. We’ve also fixed some of the queries with ElastiSearch so that we have more filtering and ordering posibilities.

Another big improvement has been the start of the implementation of the messages and notification system, which it’s being made using WebSockets so that they are in realtime.

Business and Social Diffusion

This time we finally have a working synthetic database with many company, candidate and offers! The script that deploys all of this even applies to different offers and then rate them so that the algorithm can recalculate the Index values of this profiles!
